WVEA Executive Director Kym Randolph
A Ripley, West Virginia native who hails from a union family, Kym Randolph is a former educator known for her straight talk, “can do” attitude and wry sense of humor. A Marshall University graduate, she taught high school social studies and science in Wirt County, coaching basketball and volleyball and becoming a respected local association leader. Her first job with WVEA was in the southern coal fields as an Organizational Development Specialist (ODS) advocating for school personnel and public schools. Because of her expertise involving the myriad of instructional issues educators deal with on a daily basis, she headed up WVEA’s instructional and communications departments and served as the assistant executive director for over a decade before becoming executive director in January, 2021. Under her leadership WVEA has won numerous communications awards for its publications and advocacy campaigns. Kym volunteers for several local community and civic organizations.
