CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Michael Martirano was officially hired as West Virginia’s next superintendent of schools today.
Members of the state Board of Education unanimously approved Martirano’s hiring at a meeting this morning. Martirano, who was superintendent of St. Mary’s County Public Schools in southern Maryland for about a decade, will have an annual salary of $230,000.
