Budget decisions delayed after lawmakers hit with new $92 million problem

West Virginia’s budget hole got $92 million deeper Tuesday leaving Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin and members of the state legislature faced with what are anticipated to be painful decisions to make before the new fiscal year begins July 1.

Voter ID bill with expanded options passes legislature on final day

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin indicated Saturday he’ll sign the Voter ID bill (HB 4013) that passed the legislature Saturday night.
The House of Delegates eventually agreed to most of the changes the Senate made to the bill providing for more acceptable forms of identification at polling places.
