West Virginia school staff to be surveyed on whether they want COVID-19 vaccine

December 16, 2020

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) — The West Virginia Department of Education says this week they’ll be sending a survey to county superintendents to find out how many teachers and staff members want to take the COVID-19 vaccine.

They say the Moderna vaccines, which are pending FDA approval, will be prioritized to staff age 50 and above.

In a written statement, the Department of Education says while specific dates have not been set, they’re working with the National Guard to be prepared for distribution as soon as vaccines are allocated for the state’s Phase 1-D.

The statement says the information obtained from the survey will assist in determining how many vaccines are needed per district.
