Teacher shortage leaves WV schools with 500+ unfilled positions

KINGWOOD, W.VA. – Preston County Schools isn’t alone in struggling to fill teaching positions.

West Virginia Education Association President Dale Lee, said there were more than 500 unfilled teaching positions posted statewide the most recent time he checked.

“Everyone’s having shortages,” Lee said. “This is not a problem just in West Virginia.”
