By The Associated Press

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — Educators from across West Virginia are gathering in Charleston for a school leadership summit.

The West Virginia Board of Education is hosting Tuesday's School Leadership Stakeholder Meeting. Teacher groups, higher education staff, school principals and others will examine current leadership standards, the characteristics of good education leaders and how to replicate best practices across the state's public schools.

The event was made possible by a National Governors Association grant. Representatives of the NGA and the Council of Chief State School Officers also will participate in the daylong event at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
