CHARLESTON, W.Va. — House of Delegates Speaker Roger Hanshaw announced Monday he’s called delegates back into special session to finish up some work that it didn’t get to last month.

The special session will resume Monday, July 22, at noon. That’s the same day state lawmakers are scheduled to be at the state capitol for monthly interim committee meetings.

House Communications Director Jared Hunt said House leadership plans to conclude work on supplemental appropriation bills and then adjourn the special session.

The Senate will not be in special session next week but the special session will not be adjourned, according to Senate Communications Director Jacque Bland.

Bland said Senate President Mitch Carmichael doesn’t want to adjourn the special session on the Senate side because there are some nominations from the governor’s office that have to be dealt with through the confirmation process later this year.
