Girl hit by car while getting on school bus
A Logan County girl was injured Thursday morning when she was struck by a car as she tried get on her school bus.
The girl, 12, was attempting to board along state Route 10 in Logan County when a car came past the bus’ stop sign and struck her, state troopers said.
Robbie Marie Grove, 23, of Logan, told troopers she didn’t see the lights. She was charged with illegally passing a school bus.
The girl was treated by medical personnel after suffering several scrapes and bruises.
The state legislature approved a bill (SB 13) on the final day of the legislative session last Saturday that would increase the penalties against those who illegally pass school buses. Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has yet to receive the bill.
