Several state laws will take effect July 1, including the law passed to give teachers and school service personnel an across-the-board $1,000 pay raise.
Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin promised in his State of the State address school teachers, bus drivers and custodians would see a 2 percent increase in their salaries.
