Today (Monday, Jan. 4) is the deadline to nominate teachers for the Arch Coal Teacher Achievement Awards.
“Individuals have until Jan. 4, 2016, to nominate a worthy teacher for one of 10 awards, which will be presented early next spring,” said Russ Lorince, Arch Coal vice president of external affairs, eastern region. “It is easy to nominate online at archteacherawards.com."
Each nominated teacher will be required to complete a rigorous application focusing on the teaching profession and their personal teaching philosophy, as well as their professional development and educational achievements.
A panel of past recipients judges the applications and selects 10 winners who will each receive a $3,500 personal cash award, a trophy and a plaque from the Arch Coal Foundation.
The Arch Coal Teacher Achievement Awards is in its 27th year in West Virginia. The program is the longest-running privately sponsored teacher recognition program in the state.
