CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Gov. Jim Justice’s office will present West Virginia’s 2017 Teacher of the Year with a new car and a check Wednesday at the state Capitol.

Toni Poling, an English teacher at Fairmont Senior High School in Marion County, has been honored with the award. She has been teaching at Fairmont since 2006.

Poling will receive a new Toyota from Toyota Motor Manufacturing of West Virginia to use for a year, as well as a check from Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield West Virginia.

Poling additionally received a grant for $1,000 that will go toward her school.

She was named Teacher of the Year in September.
