PARKERSBURG - A chemistry teacher at Parkersburg High School will be the guest of U.S. Rep. David McKinley, R-W.Va., at President Obama's State of the Union speech on Tuesday in Washington, D.C.

Judith Winans is a chemistry teacher at Parkersburg High and was the 2014 Wood County Teacher of the Year. She has taught school for 26 years.

Obama, a Democrat, is in his second term as chief executive. The speech begins around 9 p.m.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Right now, teachers in Kanawha County are only evaluated on whether they dress professionally. However, with a few issues popping up, some officials want some rules set in stone.
