Contacting Your Legislators


Periodically, WVEA members are called into action to lobby legislators on critical issues. In the event of a call to action, members are alerted through their local president and WVEA staff to place phone calls and/or write letters via U.S. mail or electronic mail to legislators on specific issues.

Legislators tell us they are generally swayed on an issue if they hear from a number of their constituents. Being the largest public employee union in the state, we have tremendous strength in numbers if you will do your part and respond to action alerts when they are issued.
