About WVEA

You are the WVEA

The WVEA isn’t just a building in Charleston.  We are education employees like you who care deeply about children and public education.  We help employees throughout the state face the demands of their profession.

We have a long and wonderful tradition that spans nearly 150 years.  WVEA members have always been at the center of every struggle to advance public education in West Virginia.

WVEA is the state’s largest education employee organization.  The WVEA family includes classroom teachers and other licensed professional staff, education support professionals, higher education faculty and classified staff, future teachers and retired school employees.

We’re there when you can’t be – monitoring the laws that affect how you do your job, advocating for more education funding and working to improve salaries – so that you’re free to do what you do best:  helping West Virginia’s children succeed!
